Located in the north of Italy, Milan is the largest city in the province of Lombardy and the second largest city in Italy.

Milan is the economic center of Italy and a very busy city at any time of year to visit.

Home to the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, Milan has a rich history in art and has some of the most valuable works of art on display in its galleries. The galleries of Milan also reflect the history of the city, but be advised if you plan on something from the visitGalleries in advance booking.

Milan's main attraction is the cathedral, the third largest church in the world and took nearly 450 years to build. The construction of the cathedral began in 1386 and was completed in 1805 by Napoleon. Superbly located, the Gothic church is a must for every tourist to see.

Built in 1386, the Castello Sforzesco is a massive fortress in the center of Milan. The Sforza has many great museums and home to the work of many great artists like Michelangelo.

Forthe sporting fans a visit to the Meazza Stadium, better known as San Siro should be rewarded known. This is one of the best football stadiums in Italy. Daily visits to the San Siro with access to the stadium and locker rooms.

The winter months in Milan can be very cold, summers hot and humid.

A trip north to the Alps or the Lakes Region is highly recommended and should make a memorable one. The Italian train system is excellent, and daily trips tothe lakes should not take too long. Hotel prices vary during the year – in winter not only an excellent time to visit.

Also as one of the major fashion capitals of Italy, Milan is home to some of the best designers in the world. Most of the major transactions can near the city center. Do you expect to attract huge crowds during the sales, people from all over Europe.

Milan is well suited to meet the needs of travelers. From the moment you arrive, you will be metwith an excellent transportation network, efficiently and inexpensively. Avoid traveling through the streets of Milan by car if possible – traffic can be chaotic.

Wherever possible it is best to use public transport. If you must use a taxi to be very careful, you use the official taxis, which are white or yellow. These are a lot cheaper than the private cabin, which may charge you double the price.

Milan is a cosmopolitan city and offers a wide selection of restaurants. Prices varyconsiderably from place to place. Restaurants are very crowded on weekends, book it in advance, if possible. Menus and prices are usually posted outside the restaurant – the standard also leave a small tip.

The season begins in Milan during the summer months, but that does not mean that cheap accommodation available during the season. Milan is a very lively city all year round, and hotel prices can be expensive.
